Highfield Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)
This qualification is specifically for those individuals who are to become an emergency first-aider in the workplace. This one-day qualification meets the requirements of both the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.

Entry requirements
• We recommend learners are a minimum of 14 years of age. However, Centres will need to assure themselves that learners, whatever their age, are physically capable of completing the practical assessment.
• It is also advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in English.
Upon completion of this First Aid course, you will have passed the following units:
Unit 1 - Emergency First Aid in the Workplace.
Qualification Outcomes
In line with guidance provided by the HSE, the qualification supports/approves workplace emergency first aiders for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course.
In addition to this, it is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.

• Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
• Be able to assess an incident
• Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
