HSE OFFSHORE MEDIC TRAINING

Medics UK conduct 4 HSE approved Offshore Medics courses per year.

We realise how difficult it is for students to devote Four weeks full time study so our course can me ran on a modular basis over a 6 month period allowing time for study and time to continue clinical practice. Some of the modules may be completed in your existing workplace if it meets HSE requirements

For existing offshore medics the course consists of two weeks classroom based training with various clinical attachments

We now offer modular training which enables students to complete their offshore medic course within a 6 month period working through a list of clinical competencies.

This is NOT distant learning the competencies have been developed with the ambulance service and JRCALC guidelines.

Students are assessed and signed off as competent at various clinical settings some of which can be in their existing workplace. This means that potential offshore medics do not have to take 2 or 4 weeks leave to complete the training. Assessments and various lectures and practical exercises are taken at our training centres in Teesside at times and dates to suit.

Training is conducted by experienced offshore medics and NHS staff

We have a 100% record of students who pass our course finding employment, in fact a number are now employed offshore by us.

Potential offshore medics who meet the pre-requisite requirements for the training complete the above training as well as another 10 days hospital and General Practice secondments.

Training staff are NHS state registered paramedics and HSE Offshore Medics.

Medics UK also provide potential offshore medics with contacts for employers as well as discounted placements on survival courses UK wide. Our training is based on practical hands on training with a common sense approach. Courses are held in Teesside and North Yorkshire.
